Bong, Fast Food Bag Tips Off Redmond Cop That Driver High

REDMOND, WA — A Redmond officer recently had an extremely easy time arresting a teen for DUI with marijuana.

The officer pulled the teen over along 148th Avenue Northeast around 3 a.m. last week for speeding and driving badly. When the officer walked up to the car, he looked inside and saw a loaded bong in the backseat, a bag of Jack In The Box, and, of course, the last bits of a cloud of smoke. The 19-year-old also had bloodshot eyes, the officer noted.

He was arrested for DUI — and for possessing marijuana under the legal age of 21.

A woman reported her Redmond home was burglarized after her garage door opener and personal documents were stolen out of her car while in Bellevue. The thief apparently prowled her car while parked at a local high school and then went directly to her residence and stole electronics and other items. The suspect’s identity is not yet known.

A man reported he was the victim of harassment after a person he met on a dating app attempted to extort money out of him. The suspect threatened to send nude photos of the victim to his friends and family if he did not comply with demands for money. No identifying information about the suspect was available.
