OUR FEBRUARY MEETING

Tuesday, February 9, 7 - 9 PM
Pomegranate Restaurant
18005 NE 68th St, Redmond, WA 98052

This month’s topic is the “Keystonization” of other fossil fuel infrastructure fights around North America and our region and how vital this is. The importance of connecting the dots between different issues that might seem counter-intuitive to mainstream climate activists, and how critical it is to broaden the movement for climate justice. And how, in light of the recent Paris agreement, we need to intensify the pressure at every level of government to hold them accountable and push for real and just solutions.

Our speaker is Carlo Voli, a local community-supported organizer working mainly with 350 Seattle. He has been involved with several major campaigns, such as the Keystone XL pipeline, ShellNo!, the local fight to prevent the Pacific Northwest from becoming a fossil fuel corridor, and was recently in Paris during the UN Climate talks. He is also a strong advocate for climate justice, community solar, and sustainability.

Drinking Liberally - Redmond gives like-minded progressives a place to talk politics. You don’t need to be a policy expert and this isn’t a book club - just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent in an informal, friendly environment.
