Anime Heroes & Japanese Forms Teen Workshop

RASP Salutes National Poetry Month Like Anime? Like Haiku? Haibun? Teens sign up for a free creative writing and comic book workshop! Join us for a two-hour workshop that uses characters and scenes from Japanese anime and manga to inspire writing in Matsuo Basho's classic form of haibun. The class will include a short description of and exercise with haiku, and then we'll practice the more nuanced form of haibun. A fun way to connect pop culture and poetic forms. This program is produced by the Redmond Association of Spokenword (RASP), cosponsored by the Friends of the Redmond Library, and facilitated by poet Jeannine Hall Gailey. To register for the class, call (425) 885-1861, or go to http://www.kcls.org/programs/ and search on Redmond Library.
