VALA Eastside [Venues for Artists in the Local Area] has opened a new gallery space in Redmond Town Center featuring a collection of work by Kirkland artist Rebecca DeVere titled “Coming of Age: A Childhood Series”.
The gallery (located next to GameStop at Redmond Town Center) is open to the public Friday – Sunday 11am-5pm.
Coming of Age: A Childhood Series
Rebecca DeVere’s latest paintings are based on writing and drawings from her childhood sketchbooks. About her work Rebecca says, “My mother had saved much of my art work and after having them in storage for many years; she sent them back to me. …It was a humbling journey walking through these drawings as I realized who I have always been, an Artist.”

The Childhood Series winds these young memories into paintings and asks all of us to take a look back at our past in order to understand where we are today and where we will go tomorrow.
