Kirkland Arts Center presents Imaginature

Join us at the Opening Reception on Friday, January 23, 6:00 - 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be served.

Kirkland Arts Center’s new exhibition, Imaginature, examines how different artists create works that are inspired by nature and warped by their imagination. The works featured in Imaginature range from slightly altered landscapes to wild, surreal portrayals of animals. Natural imagery is manipulated in novel and exciting ways. Curated by Grant P.H. Barber, the exhibit features art from local artists and galleries.

Artists: Renee Adams, Louise Britton, Gerard Cambon, Ben Darby, Thomas Deady, Rachel Denny, Cheryl Ekstrom, Justin Gibbens, Tyson Grumm, Robin & John Gumaelius, Larry Heald, Guy Laramée, Fred Lisaius, Mars and Pony, Jason Sobottka, Amy Spassov, Francesca Sundsten, John Thoe, Wendy Thon, and Thomas Wood.

The exhibit also includes an interactive felt wall where both children and adults can assemble their own imaginative monster out of pre-cut felt monster body parts. Along with creating a monster, visitors are encouraged to create an elaborate backstory detailing the history of their creature.
