Open Seat On Redmond City Council Up For Grabs

The city is accepting applications from Redmond residents to fill departing Councilwoman Kimberly Allen's seat.

REDMOND, WA - Councilwoman Kimberly Allen is resigning from the City Council effective Jan. 31, and so the city has opened up her seat to any resident who's interested in serving.

Allen's replacement would serve the remainder of her term, through November 2017, and could run for reelection. To qualify to serve, you must have lived in Redmond for at least one year, and you must be a registered voter.

Allen is resigning due to conflicts between her work and Council schedules, according to reports. Allen's job as a land use consultant involves lots of meetings with city governments up and down the West Coast, and those cities often hold meetings on the same days as Redmond.
