Play Safe: Redmond Offers Fall Fun For Small Groups

Enrollment is open for several recreational activities planned for adults and kids in the coming weeks.

REDMOND, WA — Registration is open for several recreational events planned in September and October, allowing for some fun out of the house, while adhereing to state coronavirus mandates.

For adults, six outdoor exercise programs are scheduled to begin in late September at Perrigo Park, including a cardio boot camp, Pilates, Zumba and yoga. Groups are limited to five people, and participants must maintain proper spacing.

For the kids, a new distance-learning camp is being offered for students in grades 2 - 5, allowing small groups to get together for some outdoor sports, games, arts and crafts once the virtual school day concludes. Events are scheduled beginning Sept. 28 and running through December.

Here's the description for Week 1, from the city's website:

(Age 7-11) Our new Redmond Distance Learning Camp is a full day in-person program featuring the best of our Camp Redmond experience with an emphasis on learning. Our goal is to support the remote learning needs for children in grade 2nd – 5th as they complete their online school curriculum in a safe and social environment. During the school day, children will receive support as they participate in their virtual classes and complete their remote learning assignments. Once the school day ends, the camp fun begins with outdoor sports, games, arts and crafts, and much more!

This camp will begin in Phase 2 of Governor Jay Inslee’s Safe Start Reopening Plan. Cohorts of campers will include no more than 8 campers in one room together. For the specific health and safety guidelines that will be in effect in camps (including topics such as physical distancing, disinfection, and wearing of masks) please visit www.Redmond.gov/playsafe.

  • Remember to bring a water bottle, sack lunch, sunscreen, and dress to move
  • Remember to bring all schoolwork & supplies: notebook, pencils, pens, laptop/charger, textbooks
  • Please bring required medical waiver to the first day of camp
