Redmond Employees Collect Thousands Of Socks For the Homeless
The socks will help area homeless men, women, and children stay warm this winter.

REDMOND - City employees collected some 4,500 socks over the month of October to donate to homeless people, and you can see their charitable work this weekend during the Redmond Lights festival.
The employees created a "sock tree" out of the socks they collected, which acts as a visual reminder about the homelessness issue. A sign near the tree says that socks are the No. 1 requested item at homeless shelters.
The 4,500 socks will go to the local outreach programs Eastside Baby Corner, Catholic Community Services, Sophia Way, and Congregations For the Homeless.
