Redmond Gets New Interim Public Works Director
Maxine Whattam has been appointed as the new interim Public Works Director for the City of Redmond.

REDMOND, WA - From The City of Redmond: Redmond Mayor John Marchione has announced the appointment of Maxine Whattam as the interim Public Works Director. Linda DeBoldt resigned from the position effective December 15.
Whattam started with the City of Redmond in March of 2016 as the Parks & Recreation Director and will continue serving in both positions until a new Public Works Director is hired. Whattam worked in various management positions for the City of Kennewick for 24 years before joining the City of Redmond.
“Maxine’s vast knowledge and her passion to support the City of Redmond’s residents make her an ideal fit for the interim Public Works Director,” stated Mayor John Marchione. “We are in the process of conducting a national search.”

Whattam is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a Master of Science in Parks and Recreation Management and a Bachelor degree in Leisure Studies from Leeds Metropolitan University, UK. Additionally, Whattam was a Leadership Fellow at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA. She has received multiple awards including the Althea Rebecca Award for her Service to Seniors and the Amigo Award from the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber.
