Redmond Homicide Suspect Released From Jail

The investigation into the June 20 shooting death of Jonathan Fagerlie remains open, according to authorities.

REDMOND, WA — The man arrested in connection to a fatal June 20 shooting in Redmond was released from jail on Tuesday, and police are now describing the case as an open investigation.

Early in the morning last Thursday, Jonathan Fagerlie, 48, was found in the street outside his home along 154th Avenue Northeast. He was shot multiple times, and later died at Harborview Medical Center.

Police arrested his brother, Marc Jo Vanhorn, at the family's home, and he was held in jail on $500,000 bond, according to jail records. The two had been in a fight before the shooting, police said.

The deadline to charge Vanhorn expired on Tuesday afternoon when Redmond police did not forward charges to the King County Prosecutor. On Wednesday, Redmond police said that the department was conferring with "prosecutors [to] determine appropriate charges."

Fagerlie's killing was the first in Redmond since spring 2018, when Tiffany Scotland, 26, was strangled by her wife at a Redmond Way apartment complex.
