Redmond Named 'Best Place To Live' In Washington

Tech jobs, restaurants, and its Puget Sound location scored Redmond the No. 1 spot in the list by Niche.com.

REDMOND, WA - It seems like there's a new list every week ranking this or that city as "best" in something. But so what? It's always nice to get recognized for being a good place to live. This week, Redmond has topped a list of best cities in Washington state compiled by the website Niche.com.

The website used data points like school quality, housing trends, employment, crime stats, and access to amenities to evaluate a community. The website said that Redmond's proximity to tech jobs, proximity to Seattle, and good local restaurants are why it came in No. 1.

"Redmond is a very central location with regards to the tech industry. Valve, Amazon, Microsoft, Monolith, and many other companies are less than a 30 minute drive away. The public transportation is very good as well. The 545 goes directly to downtown Seattle and from there, the Link goes to SeaTac airport and, with an Orca card, only costs $3.75 ($3.50 initial, $.25 transfer) one way! As a student on a budget, that is very cost effective," one Redmond "reviewer" wrote on Niche.com.
