Redmond Officers 'Attacked' At Redmond Lights Event
A Bellevue man ran at the officers and tried to get them to shoot him, according to police.

REDMOND, WA - Redmond police are looking for witnesses to a strange incident that took place Saturday at Redmond Lights.
Around 5 p.m., a 40-year-old Bellevue man ran toward an officer who was directing traffic at the intersection of Leary Way and Cleveland Street. Then, the man started swearing at officers, demanding they shoot him. The man reached into his pockets as if he were searching for a weapon. Two officers struggled with the man as he threw punches and continued to yell.
Police eventually got control over the man, but one officer suffered bruised ribs and a knee injury.

"The suspect was clearly disturbed and his reckless behavior was a threat to himself, our officers and many surrounding citizens," Lt. Martin Fuller said in a press release. "Thankfully, our officers are well-trained and reacted quickly to mitigate harm to everyone involved."
