Redmond Detectives Shoot, Kill Man In Kirkland
The shooting happened at a Safeway in Kirkland on Thursday afternoon.
REDMOND, WA - A man shot by Redmond police detectives at a Safeway gas station in Kirkland Thursday evening died at the scene, according to Kirkland police.
The detectives were at a Safeway in Kirkland around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Northeast 144th Street and 124th Avenue Northeast searching for a suspect who was known to be armed, Redmond police spokesman JJ Perry said.
It's unclear if the person who was shot at the Safeway was the same person the detectives were looking for.

No police were injured in the shooting. Perry said that the detectives gave the victim medical treatment, and Kirkland fire medics also provided aid.
Police do not believe there are any additional suspects outstanding.
