Redmond Police: Now Is the Time to Register for National Night Out

The annual event encourages neighbors to come together to discuss crime prevention and meet local law enforcement officials.

The Redmond Police Department is inviting neighborhoods, businesses and apartment complexes to participate in the 30th Annual National Night Out Against Crime on Aug. 6.

National Night Out is a crime prevention effort that calls on residents to host neighborhood parties, cookouts and other events to show solidarity against crime. On Aug. 6, Redmond police officers, firefighters, city council members and others will attend as many parties as they can between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.

The deadline for residents to register parties is Tuesday, July 23. More information and an online registration form can be found here.

More details from Jim Bove, community outreach facilitator for RPD:

We ask that you come outside to take a stand against crime with your neighbors. If you’ve never done this, it’s a great event for fun, friends, and community! If you don’t know your neighbors…this is an excellent opportunity to meet them.
