Redmond Seeks Citizen To Serve On Planning Commission
Interested in planning and zoning issues? Redmond needs a volunteer to serve on an important city commission.

REDMOND, WA - The City of Redmond has an opening on the Planning Commission for anyone who lives within Redmond city limits. The City is committed to having a Commission that reflects the diversity of the community and encourages applications from all residents with interest in the future of Redmond.
The Planning Commission’s role is to make recommendations to the City Council regarding proposed amendments to Redmond’s Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code. These recommendations are on topics involving the future growth of the City, infrastructure, and the environment, among others. Desirable qualities of a commissioner include a strong interest in the diversity of community issues, an ability to review the meeting materials in advance, and skills in communicating with others.

The seven-member Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, typically three times a month, at Redmond City Hall. All board and commission members are volunteers.
To learn more about the commission or to apply, please go to http://www.redmond.gov/Government/BoardsCommissions/, click on “Community Service Application” and submit a completed online application. There is no deadline, but interested citizens are encouraged to apply by 5:00 p.m. on October 5, 2017. The position will remain open until filled.
