RIP: Redmond K9 Vader Dies At 13
Vader worked as a Redmond K9 for seven years until his retirement in 2015.

REDMOND, WA - One of Redmond's furriest has passed on to the big Marymoor dog park in the sky. Former police K9 Vader died over the weekend at age 13.
Vader served as a K9 for seven years alongside Det. Sam Hovenden. When Vader retired in 2015, he became Hovenden's family pet.
He worked for the SWAT team and was able to track down suspects as well as sniff out drugs and other items. During his time on the force, Vader helped capture 176 suspects, and helped recover more than $2 million in drugs and cash.

Vader loved to play with water bottles, according to police. He would often sneak up and steal bottles from officers while they weren't paying attention.
Rest in peace, Vader.
