Robbers Take Groceries From Redmond Safeway At Gunpoint
The two men took about $100 worth of goods, and this is the second grocery-involved robbery in Puget Sound recently.
REDMOND, WA — Two men stole about $100 worth of groceries from a Redmond Safeway on Wednesday night, and they pointed a gun at a store clerk on their way out, according to police.
The armed robbery happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday at the Safeway along Northeast 24th Street. The clerk saw the two men walk out of the store with a basket full of merchandise. When he called out for the robbers to stop, one of them pulled out a gun and pointed it at the clerk. The men then drove off in an SUV.
This is the second grocery-related robbery in Puget Sound recently.

On July 8, a 41-year-old homeless man robbed a bank in Lakewood, and then used the cash to buy groceries, according to court records. Shannon L. Stewart was jailed on a first-degree robbery charge.
The Redmond robbers were described as men in their 20s, both wearing baseball hats. One of the men was wearing a Mariners jacket, the other one was wearing a gray shirt and light-colored pants.
