Trader Joe's Hummus Voluntarily Recalled for Listeria Concerns
The recall affects hummus distributed in states up and down the West Coast.
Two types of Trader Joe's hummus have been voluntarily recalled due to listeria concerns, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Consumers should discard Trader Joe’s Mediterranean Hummus (SKU No. 90642) and Trader Joe’s White Bean and Basil Hummus (SKU No. 91107) if the use-by date codes are through and including Dec. 15, 2016. The manufacturer, Bakkavor Foods, said the products "have the potential" to be contaminated by listeria.
Both types of hummus were distributed the Monrovia-based Trader Joe's to stores in Washington, Arizona, California, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon and Utah. The products come in 16-ounce tubs and would be stamped with the letter "C" on the bottom. Products marked with the letter "J" are not part of the recall.
