REDMOND, WA — Voters from Redmond to Vashon Island took part in the April 2019 special election, voting on school bond measures, fire district proposals, and a bond measure for Evergreen Health.

King County Elections began releasing vote totals Tuesday night. Here are the latest results as of 5 p.m. on April 24:

Lake Washington School District Capital Projects Levy

Yes: 17,475, 54.3 percent
No: 14,629, 45.5 percent

This six-year levy will allow LWSD to make upgrades at school buildings, including school safety upgrades.

Eastside Fire and Rescue Merger

Yes: 748, 45 percent
No: 911, 54.9 percent

Approving this measure will allow District 27 (the Fall City Fire Department) to merge with District 10, better known as Eastside Fire and Rescue, which serves Issaquah, Sammamish, and North Bend.

Fire District 40 Benefit Charge

Yes: 2,790, 87.7 percent
No: 388, 12.2 percent

This charge funds District 40, which serves the Cascade-Fairwood area near Renton.

Woodinville Fire and Rescue Benefit Charge

Yes: 5,564, 83.6 percent
No: 1,089, 16.3 percent

Evergreen Health Bond Measure

Yes: 28,012, 57.5 percent
No: 20,658, 42.4 percent

Approving this measure will allow the hospital district to issue $345 million in bonds for hospital upgrades. Because this is a bond measure, it needs 60 percent approval PLUS at least 56,283 people voting in the election (who live in the hospital district).

King County will release the next tally of votes on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
