Series Of Vehicle Prowls In Redmond: Police Blotter

REDMOND, WA - Redmond police published the department's latest police blotter on Thursday. Vehicle prowls were the most frequent crimes, plus other types of theft and burglary.

Officers were called to investigate a vehicle break-in. The victim reported his backpack and other personal items were taken from his vehicle sometime overnight while it was parked in front of his apartment. There was no visible damage to the vehicle.

A backpack was stolen from a vehicle in a hospital parking lot. The suspect gained entrance by cutting the tape covering a damaged window.

An unknown suspect entered a residence through an unlocked door and stole electronics, car keys and other property. The suspect then used the victim's keys to steal his car that was parked in the apartment complex parking lot. Investigation is ongoing.

Police were called to investigated a reported vehicle theft. The caller told officers that his friend had left his vehicle at his house and an unknown subject drove off with it late in the evening. Officers are investigating the alleged theft and attempting to track down the registered owner.

A group of rapscallion juveniles stole several fire extinguishers from the hallways of an apartment complex and sprayed them onto vehicles parked at the complex. The vehicle owners declined to press charges as the prank did not cause any damage.

Officers investigated a break-in at a local business where several electronics and other items were stolen. The suspect or suspects broke through the front door to gain entry. Investigation is ongoing.

- Location: 18600 block of NE 63rd Way
- Case Number: 18-000894
A vehicle key stolen in a car prowl was used to then steal a car. The keys had been left in a bag in the victim's boyfriend's car and were stolen by an unknown suspect. There was no sign of forced entry on the boyfriend's vehicle. The suspect then took off with the victim's car. Evidence gathered is being processed.
