Signs of the Living God
Respectful conversations may help religious people find common ground.

We know nuclear war could engulf our planet or a natural disaster could cause great harm to the lives here on earth. So knowing the fragility of our existence what meaningful conversations should we be having? Jonah spoke to Nineveh; Lot spoke to Sodom and Gomorrah, and Noah to his people. Like these and other prophets of God, Jesus, peace be upon him, invited the Jewish tribes to be good to others and worship God. This talk attracted multitudes which witnessed how the Living God came to the aid of Jesus the Christ when his enemies attacked him.
Before his death in 1908 Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, India, the Promised Messiah, wrote more than 80 books on this same conversation: be good and worship God. The Living God revealed to this subordinate prophet grave warnings about World Wars and explanations of controversial verses in the Quran. One of Ahmad’s books, “Jesus in India”, written in 1896 explains that the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, though put on the cross was saved from the accursed death. Jesus was taken away alive by his followers, nurtured medically even as he was wrapped in a shroud. Jesus recovered from the coma, and later lived a normal life among the lost tribes of the Israel which had settled in countries to the east of Jerusalem. His final resting place is in Srinagar, Kashmir.
Christian missionaries in India as well as orthodox Muslims became angry when Ahmad revealed this truth about the cross. In the face of mobs throwing stones and lawsuits, Ahmad, received the help of the Living God. Supported by thousands of heavenly signs such as the prophetic eclipse of the sun and moon as well as the fulfillment of prophecies regarding a Messianic son, Ahmad’s claims have spread to the four corners of the world. In 2010 the fifth spiritual successor of Ahmad, was allowed to view the rare exhibit of the Shroud of Turin. He states, “The pollen residues in the shroud provide evidence that this cloth came from Palestine or Middle East and it is indeed the burial cloth of Jesus, as the Ahmadi Muslims believe.”

Ahmad’s writings explain in detail how each of us has the potential to have a personal relationship with the Living God. A personal relationship with the Living God certainly carried the Promised Messiah of Muhammad, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, through a long life of devotion to peace. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes the same is true of the Promised Messiah of Moses know as Jesus the Christ. Peace and blessings be upon them all.
