SR 520 Shooting Suspect Arrested, WSP Seeks Witnesses

A man was arrested Tuesday after a shooting on the eastbound lanes of SR 520 near Redmond. Detectives want to find other drivers who saw it.

REDMOND, WA — Washington State Patrol troopers are looking for anyone who witnessed an apparent road rage shooting along State Route 520 Tuesday afternoon. According to WSP, a driver called to report his 2000 BMW was shot at by a man driving a 1992 Honda Accord in the eastbound lanes of SR 520 at 3:15 p.m.

Investigators said the BMW driver switched lanes after the suspect began tailgating him. The driver told troopers the suspect swerved at him, and he swerved back. According to troopers, the suspect then pulled out a handgun and fired one shot at the BMW.

Using information provided by the victim, the vehicle was stopped a short time later by the Duvall Police Department. Troopers took the victim to the location and he positively identified the vehicle. The driver of the Honda Accord was then arrested and booked into jail.
