These Local Cities Have 'Most Sustainable' Credit Card Debt

The residents of several Puget Sound cities are in good shape when it comes to credit card debt, according to a new report.

REDMOND, WA - Do you know how much credit card debt you owe? Depending on where you live, you might be in more debt than you think, according to a new report from the financial website WalletHub.

That's because WalletHub factored in city median income and the December .25 percent federal interest increase. In cities with lower median incomes, a higher credit card debt balance will take longer to pay off. And when you take longer to pay, higher interest keep nudging the balance up.

Not a surprise, some of the Puget Sound cities with the most sustainable credit card balances are wealthier than average. The city with the most sustainable credit card load in the U.S. is Sunnyvale, Calif., which is smack in the middle of Silicon Valley. Sunnyvale residents on average can pay off the average debt balance within four months, according to WalletHub.
