Top Chef Lisa Dupar To Talk about Food Policy at Drinking Liberally-Redmond May Meetings

Drinking Liberally-Redmond will meet on Tuesday, May 12, from 7 - 9 PM, at the Pomegranate Restaurant, 18005 NE 68th St, Redmond, WA 98052.
The featured speaker will be executive chef and award-winning cookbook author LIsa Dupar speaking on food and agriculture policy.
Food and agricultural policy are not at the forefront of most progressives’ minds, because we tend to be city dwellers in an ever more urban society. The production, marketing and consumption of food is key to nearly everything. (It’s one of the keys to war, too, because large-scale agriculture is dependent on control of global land, oil, minerals and water.)”

Ms. Dupar is President and Chief Creative Officer of Southern Accents Inc. (dba Lisa Dupar Catering and Pomegranate Bistro). She won both the International Association of Culinary Professionals and Julia Child Award in 2010 for her first cookbook, “Fried Chicken & Champagne.” She was named one of the Women of Influence by the Puget Sound Business Journal in 2012. LIsa is passionate about food, and she has been Drinking Liberally-Redmond’s most congenial host from the beginning.
As always there will be plenty of time for discussion on a variety of issues of concern to participants.
