Unlike most people, Mark had the ability to retire at age 45 after working in product development at Microsoft for 25 years. Hanson worked on variety of technologies such as Windows, digital media, security and speech recognition, which required him to manage globally distributed teams. Hanson retired and wanted to find a second act career that he would enjoy while also keeping his mind sharp. After conducting much research, he decided on the travel industry and pursued the opportunity with Expedia CruiseShipCenters as his “Fun-tirement.” Hanson believes that being able to leverage his technology background combined with the joy of helping others will be a successful combination. Hanson is looking forward to sending clients on their dream vacations. When he isn’t planning dream vacations or traveling, he enjoys golfing with his wife Kim.
