VIEWFINDER: Boomerang Enthusiasts Descend on Marymoor Park

was the place to be for boomerang enthusiasts this weekend as the 18th-annual Greater Seattle Open Boomerang Tournament took place at the park on Saturday. The event was one of three main qualifying events for the 2012 world championship tournament in Brazil.

According to event organizer Betsylew Miale-Gix, the Puget Sound area has become somewhat of a hotbed for boomerang competitors, with eight of the 18 throwers who competed for the United States Boomerang team in the 2010 World Team Championships in Italy coming from the greater Seattle area.
