Want to calculate your carbon footprint? Go to Impact Redmond and crunch the numbers!

Ever wonder about your personal carbon footprint? Now you can find out by visiting city of Redmond's website, Impact Redmond, and answering a few questions.

By answering questions from whether you commute to work to how often and far you travel for vacation, the program generates a rough estimate on your C02 output annually. This estimate, in conjuntion with the Pledge can help you monitor your approximate output and track what changes you may be able to make in your life.

Impact Redmond's aim is to promote sustainability in Redmond by providing both a platform for community engagement and growth, as well as a virtual space for the city to showcase its own efforts in making Redmond a greener place to live.

According to Carbon Planet, the national average for annual eCO2 emissions per capita in the U.S. in 2009 was 19.1 tons (38,200 lbs.). Some studies show the national eCO2 emissions average as high as 25 tons (50,000 lbs.)/person . According to the State Dept. of Commerce, the average annual eCO2 emissions per capita in Washington State in 2004 was 12.39 tons (24,780 lbs.) In Redmond, the average annual eCO2 emissions per capita in 2010 was 21.97 tons (43,940 lbs).
