Watch: Redmond Mosque Vandalism Suspect Caught On Surveillance Video

REDMOND, WA - Police have released a surveillance video showing a man vandalizing a sign in front of the Muslim Association of Puget Sound mosque early Saturday morning.

The video shows the man walk up to the sign from an adjacent parking lot carrying what appears to be a sledge hammer. The man then attacks the sign for a few minutes before leaving the scene. Police describe the man as a young, white male.

This is the second time within four weeks that someone has vandalized the sign. Police are investigating both incidents as hate crimes. The surveillance video was captured by a new system that the mosque installed after someone smashed the same sign with a hammer on Nov. 21.

Police also released an image of a truck that was in the area at the time of the incident. They do not believe the truck is related to the incident, but the driver may be an important witness. If you know anything about the incident, call Redmond Police at 425-556-2500.
