2 Children Injured After Suspected DUI Crash Near Kent

According to the sheriff's office, the kids were riding in a battery-powered Barbie Jeep when they were hit by a pickup truck.

KENT, WA — A 26-year-old driver is under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence after a hit-and-run crash injured two children east of Covington on Tuesday night, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to the 19800 block of Southeast 281st Street shortly before 6:30 p.m.

According to the sheriff's office, the children, ages 2 and 5, were riding in a battery-powered Barbie Jeep when they were hit by a pickup truck. Deputies said the driver fled the scene and was arrested half a mile away. Both children were rushed to Harborview Medical Center in unknown condition.
