2 Men Injured In Renton Shooting

Police said both men were shot in Renton following some kind of dispute Wednesday night.

RENTON, WA — Two men were injured in a shooting after an altercation near a Renton fast-food restaurant Wednesday night. According to the Renton Police Department, officers responded to a parking lot on the 600 block of Rainier Avenue South around 10:15 p.m.

According to an update provided by police Thursday, a woman called 911 to report someone had a gun pointed at her boyfriend's head, shortly before several shots were fired.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 27-year-old Kent man with a gunshot wound to his hand. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. A short time later, a 21-year-old man was dropped off at Valley Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his torso. The second man was later taken to Harborview with critical injuries, but remains stable.

According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed the shooting followed some type of dispute among several people who were familiar with each other. Detectives said a suspect in the shooting was later spotted by an off-duty Kent police officer, who reported a "bullet-ridden vehicle" speeding in the area. Two people inside the car were later arrested without incident.

Police said everyone involved in the shooting has been identified, but a motive has not been determined.
