2 Renton Residents Injured In Mason County Head-On Crash
The crash happened Sunday night when a vehicle with no headlights hit the two Renton residents head-on.

SHELTON, WA - Two Renton residents were injured in a Sunday night head-on crash near Shelton, according to state patrol. The other driver allegedly drifted into oncoming traffic without her lights on and hit the other car.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. Sunday along SR 3 northeast of Shelton. According to Washington State Patrol, Laura Mershon, 43, of Austin, Texas, was headed northbound with her lights off when she crossed over into the southbound lanes.
Mershon's car, a 2007 Nissan Murano, collided head-on with a minivan driven by Carol Saari, 68, of Renton. Taylor Saari, 21, was in the passenger seat.

All three involved in the crash were taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton for treatment. Mershon has not be arrested, but state patrol said that charges against her are pending. The crash closed SR 3 for about 90 minutes Sunday night.
