2 Seriously Injured In Renton Drunk Driving Crash

The crash happened early Saturday morning along Maple Valley Highway.

RENTON, WA - Two people were seriously injured in a drunk-driving crash in Renton early Saturday morning. The crash closed Maple Valley Highway between I-405 and Maplewood Park for hours.

According to police, the crash was caused by a combination of speed and alcohol. Both drivers were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with injuries described as life-threatening.

"This collision is a result of excessive speed and alcohol. Considering all of the transportation options available, driving impaired is outrageous and unnecessary. Slow down, put your phones down, and make arrangements prior to impairment. These collisions are 100% avoidable, lets step up and make our community," Renton police wrote on Facebook about the crash.
