2 Shot In Drive-By At Renton's Gene Coulon Park
Renton detectives are investigating after a double shooting in the park's north end Tuesday night.
RENTON, WA — Two young men are injured after a shooting on the north end of Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park Tuesday night, according to investigators.
The Renton Police Department said officers responded to the park after several shots were fired during a memorial gathering for a 14-year-old girl who died last weekend.
According to the police, the group was preparing to leave the area when a car drove-by at shot at the crowd, hitting a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man. Police said the teen had surgery for a leg wound and is expected to recover. The 20-year-old was released from the hospital with a superficial wound.

Detectives said the shooters left the area in a green Toyota 4Runner, but further details on the suspects were not immediately released. Officers remained at the scene late into the night interviewing witnesses.
