4 Injured, Including Child, In Crash Along Maple Valley Highway
The three-car crash Friday night closed Maple Valley Highway in Renton. Speed and impairment are suspected, police say.
RENTON, WA - Maple Valley Highway was closed just east of I-405 Friday night after a three-car crash. The crash sent three adults and one child to the hospital. The child was said to have "life-threatening injuries," according to Renton police.
Renton police say that the driver of one of the cars - the mother of the injured child - crossed the center line at a bend in the road near Classics Sports Bar, which caused the crash.
Police believe that speed, alcohol, and marijuana played a factor in the crash. The crash closed Maple Valley Highway between I-405 and and Southeast 5th Street near Maplewood Roadside Park.
