5 Arrested After Woman's Purse Stolen At Gunpoint: Renton Police
Police believe the group may have been involved in a "rash of other crimes" in South King County on Monday.
RENTON, WA — Five suspects were arrested Monday morning after a woman's purse was stolen at gunpoint outside Fred Meyer, according to investigators. Renton police said the victim reported the group fleeing the parking lot in a silver Honda, which officers spotted just two minutes later a few blocks away.
Officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it on Southwest Grady Way. Police said all five suspects were arrested without incident and at least one handgun was recovered.
In a news release, investigators said only one of the people involved is an adult, and the other four are juveniles. What charges each may face is still being determined. Police are also investigating a potential link to a "rash of other crimes" that were committed elsewhere in South King County earlier in the day. Details on the other incidents were not immediately released.
