Amazon Hiring 1,000 Full, Part-Time Workers For Kent Warehouses

Amazon is trying to fill more than 1,000 positions at its Kent warehouse and new AmazonFresh fulfillment center.

KENT, WA - Looking for a job? Amazon announced Monday that it needs to fill more than 1,000 positions at its Kent warehouses, and the jobs pay $14 per hour and up. If you need a job right away, Amazon will be making "on-the-spot" offers on Monday at the WorkSource office in Tacoma.

The part- and full-time jobs are at the Kent fulfillment center and the new AmazonFresh warehouse in Kent. AmazonFresh is the company's grocery delivery service, and the company recently announced that it would move its Puget Sound grocery distribution center to Kent from Bellevue's Spring District.

Full-time workers can get benefits like health insurance and retirement savings. Amazon also offers full-time workers a benefit called "Career Choice," which pays up to 95 percent of the cost of tuition for an in-demand field, like nursing or IT careers.

At the beginning of 2017, Amazon announced that it would hire 100,000 people in the U.S. through 2018. There are other hiring events going on across the country for jobs in Amazon fulfillment centers.

Amazon has also drawn criticism over working conditions in fulfillment centers. Earlier this year, Bloomberg reported that employees in Amazon warehouses are greeted when they clock in by TV screens displaying information about employees who were terminated for stealing.
