Missing Girl, Stolen SUV Found After Renton AMBER Alert
Police said the missing girl was located less than 30 minutes after authorities issued an AMBER Alert in Renton Wednesday.
RENTON, WA — A 5-year-old girl was found safe and reunited with her family Wednesday after she was abducted during a car theft in a downtown Safeway parking lot, according to Renton police. An AMBER Alert was issued just before 2 p.m., about an hour after an unidentified man stole a gray Toyota SUV with the young girl inside, according to a police timeline.
A Renton police spokesperson confirmed the child and vehicle were located just after 2:20 p.m. thanks to a customer at a nearby business who noticed a child crying inside the SUV. Police are still searching for the suspect and released a surveillance photo late Wednesday afternoon.
Further details on the investigation were not immediately available.
