• Diversity in Law Enforcement Career Workshop (portseattle.org) — A free Diversity in Law Enforcement Career Workshop is coming to the Renton Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., specifically inviting adults curious about becoming police officers. You can meet officers from seven departments, learn about the hiring process, ask questions, and even get lunch, but you must RSVP in advance through the city's website.
   

• Boeing Paid $3.1M FAA Safety Fine Without Public Disclosure (aviationpros.com) — Boeing quietly paid a $3.1 million FAA fine for safety violations tied in part to its 737 assembly plant in Renton, where inspectors found hundreds of quality system problems. The case stems from issues including the Alaska Airlines MAX 9 door plug blowout, and a U.S. senator is criticizing the penalty as too small to change behavior.
   

• Men accused of raping two Olympia teenagers (king5.com) — Two men are jailed on high bail after King County prosecutors charged them in connection with the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of two Olympia teenagers at a house in Renton. Investigators say the girls were driven to a 159th Avenue Southeast home, assaulted, then later released in Fairwood, with arrests following in Kent and Auburn.
