• Renton Fire Invites Community to Annual Fire Station Open Houses This October (patch.com) — Families in Renton can tour six neighborhood fire stations on three Saturdays in October, with free open houses offering engine tours, hose-spraying, and safety activities. Renton Regional Fire Authority firefighters will be on hand at stations across the city to meet residents, share fire safety tips, and talk about firefighting careers, with no registration required.
   

• Felon accused of violently sexually assaulting Renton trail jogger pleads not guilty (komonews.com) — A Renton man has pleaded not guilty to robbery, assault, and rape charges after a woman was violently attacked while jogging on the Longacres Trail near her son's soccer practice. Renton police say an anonymous tip and DNA from glasses left at the scene led them to the suspect, who was arrested at a Tukwila tiny-home village.
