2 Injured After Assault, Chase In Renton
A city employee was assaulted at Gene Coulon park Monday. The suspect led police on a chase near the park.
RENTON, WA - A strange incident unfolded in downtown Renton Monday as a man assaulted a city parks employee and then drove his car through a gate at a Boeing facility.
Police reported the incident around 9:30 a.m. Monday. The incident began at Gene Coulon park where the suspect allegedly assaulted the city parks employee. The man then fled the scene driving a small convertible with Texas license plates.
Police said he then crashed through a gate at a nearby Boeing facility. The suspect apparently aimed his vehicle at a security guard and hit him. That crash happened off Logan Avenue just north of North 6th Street, and the security guard was seriously injured.

Police are warning drivers that there are multiple investigations going on in the area related to the incident. Expect traffic delays this morning.
