Author Swannee Rivers Makes Dad, Zack, Lead Character in New Book
When looking for inspiration for her latest literary work, Swannee Rivers knew her dad, Zackery Bouey would make the ideal hero.
Creating a literary piece in any type of genre takes much time and energy. In addition to plot development, graphic design, editing, and much more...looking for guidance to keep you proceeding forward in placing your story on paper can take time. Where do you look for inspiration? Author Swannee Rivers, found herself in that predicament when creating her recently released children's literary work Zack the Yak's Mountaintop Adventure. While trying to determine what characteristics she wanted her lead character to exhibit, she soon realized there was someone close to her that fit the mold perfectly: dad, Zack.
While growing up, Swannee always realized she admired the mannerisms her father exhibited. A straightforward man who carried himself in a powerful, yet humble way was what she saw, always. He was the parent where no matter what the situation, he would hear the entire story prior to forming any type of response. A parent herself, Swannee finds his ability to do this amazing.
As a youngster growing up in the south, Zack shared many tales of others taking his calm demeanor as a sign of weakness. " Often they judged without getting to know the real me," he once shared. Swannee knew in the work she was writing that she wanted to present a similar experience, and show how making assumptions can lead you down a path of new discoveries.

Zack the Yak's Mountaintop Adventure has given Swannee the opportunity to do just that. From Zack often staying in his own world due to shyness, to finding that inner-voice, allowing it to escape and stepping up to present the leader that has always been held within. Swannee exclaims, at the end of the day we should not pass judgement on others, but allow each other to share what they are comfortable with at their own pace. With her new children's work she is doing just that by leaving an imprint in the lives of youngsters. One at a time.
