Benson Road Crash Leaves 1 Driver Dead
One person died Monday evening in a major crash along Benson Road South, which left a second driver with serious injuries.
RENTON, WA — A two-vehicle crash along Benson Road South left one driver dead and another with serious injuries Monday night in Renton. First responders rushed to the scene shortly before 9:30 p.m., finding one of the drivers trapped, according to police. Photos shared on social media showed one car with extreme front-end damage.

The road was closed for several hours, from South Puget Drive to north of Renton City Hall. Police said no passengers were in either vehicle. Information on what may have led to the crash was not immediately available, and a full investigation is underway.
