Birth On SR 167: Police, Firefighters Assist Mom In Labor
Emergency responders helped a mother in labor along SR 167 Thursday morning.

PACIFIC, WA - It wasn't the usual reason for a traffic jam along the Valley Freeway.
A mother nearly gave birth in the northbound lanes of SR 167 on Thursday morning, but emergency responders were able to get her to the hospital on time.
The incident did stop traffic for a while, however. Around 6 a.m., Valley Regional firefighters got a call about a woman who had gone into labor while driving to the hospital. Washington State Patrol troopers and King County deputies responded to provide assistance.
