Bridge Work In Renton Will Close Lanes On Major Road

RENTON, WA - Upcoming maintenance on the Cedar Grove Bridge will cause lane closures and eventually a full closure of the bridge, according to King County.

The Cedar Grove Bridge crosses the Cedar River from Renton Maple Valley Road (SR 169) to Cedar Grove Road Southeast. Here's information from King County about the closures:

On Thursday, August 9, a bridge inspection will be conducted on Cedar Grove Bridge/Cedar Grove Road SE near Renton in preparation for upcoming maintenance work. The work requires a lane closure between Byers Road SE and SE 180th Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

Starting Saturday, August 11 at 7 a.m., crews will begin maintenance work on Cedar Grove Bridge/Cedar Grove Road SE. The work requires a full 24-hour closure between Byers Road SE and SE 180th Street. The work includes bridge deck overlay and repairing an expansion joint and guardrails. Detour signs will be posted. The work is expected to finish on Monday, August 13 at 6 p.m.
