Car Chase, Shooting In Renton Highlands Early Thursday Morning

RENTON, WA - Two cars were involved in an early morning chase and crash in the Renton Highlands area, police are saying.

The chase happened around 5 a.m. Thursday. The two vehicles chased each other and eventually crashed near the intersection of Northeast Sunset Boulevard and Northeast 12th Street, police reported. Three suspects fled from one of the vehicles at the scene of the crash, witnesses told police, and that vehicle was apparently stolen from Normandy Park.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Valley Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Police later caught one of the suspects from the other vehicle, but did not say if that person was arrested.

Police believe gunfire was exchanged between the vehicles because they found spent cartridges near the intersection of Northeast 10th Street and Redmond Avenue Northeast.
