Carjacking Suspect Causes Wreck With Cop Car
A shoplifting and carjacking suspect led Federal Way Police on a chase that ended in a crash on SR-18 Thursday night.
FEDERAL WAY, WA - What started as a shoplifting incident at a Super Walmart ended with a crash involving a police cruiser, according to KIRO 7. Police initially responded to a shoplifting call at the store located at 16th Avenue S. and Enchanted Way. The suspect then allegedly stole a customer's vehicle and led police on a chase on eastbound SR 18.
A police officer performed a pit maneuver, which resulted in the suspect's car crashing into the median near the intersection of I-5 and SR 18, KOMO News reported.
Both the police cruiser and the suspect's car sustained damage but no one was injured. Police took the suspect into custody.
