Child Pulled From Car Before It Fell From Ledge: Renton Police

After a DUI crash in Renton, two bystanders pulled a 6-year-old from a car.

RENTON, WA - A 6-year-old was pulled out of a wrecked car early Saturday night right before it toppled off a ledge. Two bystanders are being credited with saving the child, according to Renton police.

The crash happened on the east side of Renton near the intersection of Northeast 12th Street and Union Avenue Northeast. The car crashed through a fence in front of a ledge that dropped off into another parking lot.

The car made it about halfway through the fence and, Renton police said, was teetering over the ledge. Two people who witnessed the crash pulled the 6-year-old from the backseat. That's when the car fell off the ledge, landing on its roof in the parking lot below.

No one was injured in the crash, but police suspect the driver of DUI.
