Dave Reichert Is Getting His Own 'Day' In King County
The King County Council will recognize Congressman Dave Reichert Day this week in Renton.

RENTON, WA - Former Republican Congressman and King County Sheriff Dave Reichert will get his own day in King County thanks to Councilman Regan Dunn.
During a special King County Council meeting in Renton Wednesday, Dunn will declare March 20 "Dave Reichert Day."
Reichert served as King County Sheriff from 1997 until 2005, when he won a seat in the U.S. House representing the 8th Congressional District. He won reelection with over 50 percent of the vote over seven terms. In September 2017 he announced he wouldn't run in 2018.

U.S. Rep. Kim Schrier, D-Issaquah, defeated Republican Dino Rossi in 2018 for Reichert's seat. Schrier is the first Democrat to hold the 8th Congressional District since it was created in the early 1980s.
