Double Murder Suspect Might Be In Renton

Merle Charles Buchanan, 26, is wanted for killing two men outside the Taradise Cafe on Jan. 6.

RENTON, WA - Police are looking for a 26-year-old man in connection to a double murder in White Center on Jan. 6, and police believe he might be in Renton.

Merle "Chucky" Buchanan, 26, is wanted on two counts of first-degree murder, plus a domestic violence warrant. Police believe Buchanan shot and killed Jose Angel Garcia, 51, and Paul Victor Tapia, 45, outside the Taradise Cafe in White Center.

Police are asking locals to keep an eye out for Buchanan.

"Buchanan is known to frequent Burien, Renton, and Seattle and detectives believe he is still in the area ... He should be considered armed and dangerous," King County Sgt. Cindi West wrote in a press release.

Buchanan is about 5’9” and weighs 195 pounds. If you see him, call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Club Taradise, 9808 16th Ave. Southwest, has been the scene of violence before. James Little, 30, of Seattle, was shot and killed outside the club on May 7. According to witnesses, Little had tried to break up a fight inside the bar. When he went outside to talk to one of the involved women, witnesses told police, a man named Billy D. Williams allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Little in the head.
