Parking Lot Shooting Injures 1 In Renton

RENTON, WA — Police are investigating a parking lot shooting that left a man critically injured on Monday afternoon. Officers found a 20-year-old man lying next to his car with multiple gunshot wounds, just after 4 p.m. A witness told them a man had been standing next to the victim's car, then fired shots into the car and ran away.

Police believe the shooter fled the scene, near the Wells Fargo at 355 South Grady Way, possibly driving northbound on Interstate 405 in a black car. That vehicle had no rear plates and a passenger window was broken and taped. Witnesses also reported a red truck fleeing the scene to police, but it is not known for certain whether the vehicles were tied to the suspects or potential witnesses. Detectives have not established a motive for the crime but said it is not believed to be random.
